About Us

Ortonville Mercantile & Gallery (OMG as it is commonly referred to) really is us, Sue and Greg Lockwood, owners and proprietors.  OMG is also an eclectic gift shop in the heart of Ortonville Minnesota.  OMG is the culmination of a lot of hard renovation work we did together on an historic building that was destine for teardown if someone didn't do something.  People thought we were a little crazy taking on a building with a huge hole in the roof, but most LOVE what we have done with the place.  Our brick and mortar store is actually brick and mortar, and a continuing work in progress. 

At OMG we try to bring a little cosmopolitan to rural Minnesota, while maintaining the ease and neighborly atmosphere of a small town, where everybody knows your name. You will find unique, fair-trade, original, comfortable, edgy and trend-on products for you, your home and just about anyone you love. We always say our business is about bringing joy to others via a kind word or finding that something special that makes someone smile. 

Visitors and locals often ask if OMG has a website. Finding the time to build one has proven challenging, but we finally have something, thank you for visiting.  Please bear with us as we continue to load product. We are trying some new unique items as we reach out beyond Ortonville, along with some tried and true product types.  Our goal is to always offer free shipping to keep things simple.  We hope what we offer brings you joy, makes you smile, and we will become a go-to site for your gift giving and when you want something special for yourself.  If you need special packaging for a gift, just email us, we are happy to oblige. 

We reinvest our proceeds in our community by continuing to renovate buildings (three in a row now on 2nd Street) and plan to design outdoor spaces to enjoy as well. Our goal is to continue to do the things we enjoy (transforming spaces) and hopefully help keep our small town in America alive and thriving.
